Going
green never looked so good! At the forefront of fiber engineering and
fabric development, ecoapparel’s™ 2008 offering of natural and
recycled fibers demonstrates its commitment to environmentally positive
methods and procedures throughout its operations.
ecoapparel’s™
products minimize our negative impact on the environment without
compromising quality and performance. Because it is chemical and additive
free, made from either renewable green sources or recycled materials, it
conserves natural resources and reduces energy consumption and pollution.
The Earth
will thank you.
Eco-Certification:
The ECO///
mark certifies that a garment has been manufactured in a socially
compliant, fair trade facility and is made from natural and/or recycled
fibers. The “green sector” of the fiber and apparel industry is mostly
unregulated and as consumers, we can easily be “greenwashed” by green
marketing that is more style than substance. Because there is no overall
symbol within the industry to indicate a garment’s “eco factor”, the
ECO/// mark symbolizes the compilation of certifications, audits, licenses
and binding documents that we pull together from our suppliers. The ECO///
mark is an assurance that the fiber content as stated is accurate, and
that our own domestic facility is certified as socially compliant.
One Percent For The Planet:
One
percent of net sales of ecoapparel are donated to One Percent For The
Planet
(www.onepercentfortheplanet.org),
an alliance of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to
create a healthier planet. Over 960 members worldwide donate directly to
their choice of 1,600 approved organizations. At the end of every year,
One Percent F.T.P. certifies that members have donated one percent of net
sales. One percent F.T.P. is active in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan,
South Pacific and South America. With your help in 2007, ecoapparel.ca
made a significant five-figure donation back to environmental
organizations.
